After 30 years in the NHS, Dr Naomi Elton is now practicing independently as a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. Naomi is a GMC registered doctor with licence to practice. Naomi trained at The Maudsley Hospital, London, then at the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street. She worked as a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in Braintree, Essex, then in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough working with children and young people with many kinds of mental health problem, including depression, self-harm, behavioural difficulties and ADHD. Early in her training, Naomi trained in systemic family therapy. Naomi takes care to engage with the family as well as the child and to focus on a child’s life at school, their friendships, strengths and interests. Naomi worked as a medical manager between 2012 and 2016, helping to bring about many improvements in her NHS children’s services.
Naomi’s qualifications, gained in London, include her BSc in medicine with psychology, medical degree MB BS, MRC Psych, Diploma in Systemic Therapy and MSc in Occupational Psychology. Naomi is accredited in civil & commercial mediation, workplace and community mediation and coach-mentoring.
